RB Season comes to an end after disappointing loss to Oak Lawn in Regional Semi-Final The Bulldog season came to an end Wednesday evening during a 75-67 loss to Oak Lawn High School. Thank you to Seniors Vince Dockendorf, Brycen Grove, Danny Loftus, Mantas Sleinys and Noah Wzorek and their families for the many contributions and sacrifices made both on and off the court. The loss was a disappointing end to a great season. The Bulldogs won 20+ games (21) and tied for a conference championship during year 1 in the Upstate Eight with Glenbard East. Senior Danny Loftus set the school record for made field goals in a season, and Coach Mike Reingruber moved into second place on the all-time school wins list. There is a lot to appreciate and celebrate with this group. We look forward to working hard during the offseason and building towards a memorable 2025-26 season. Thank you to all of our players, families, students, neighbors, and fans for supporting the Riverside Brookfield Boys Basketball program.
Senior Night ends in record breaking fashion for both Danny Loftus and Coach Reingruber It felt great Wednesday night to recognize our seniors after poor weather upended the original event scheduled for early February. This time around, Seniors Vince Dockendorf, Brycen Grove, Danny Loftus, Mantas Sleinys and Noah Wzorek all got to be recognized on the court with their families. All 5 players made meaningful contributions during the 81-58 victory over Bartlett. We thank them for their incredible effort to the program during their tenure with RB basketball. Senior Vince Dockendorf connected on a career high 7 made 3fg's in the victory. Records were falling left and right during the game. With a basket in the 3rd quarter, senior Danny Loftus set the single season record for made field goals, passing the previous record of 228 by Ryan Jackson (2010-11). It was a great end to an unbelievable season by Loftus. Additional, Coach Mike Reingruber moved into 2nd place on the all-time school wins list with 176, passing Alfred Dudley who coached at RB from 1939-1955. Coach Reingruber trails only his predecessor Tom McCloskey, who won 360 games as head coach. Congrats to Danny Loftus and Coach Reingruber on their incredible achievements. The Bulldogs next return to action on Wednesday, February 26th for the state playoffs. The 8th seeded Bulldogs will take on the 9th seed Oak Lawn at 7:30 at RB.

The Bulldogs overcame a sluggish start, and outscored Fenton by 24 in the 2nd half to seal the conference victory. With the win, the Bulldogs concluded the conference portion of their schedule, and the team is guaranteed at least a share of 1st place and a co-conference championship. If Glenbard East loses their remaining conference game, the Bulldogs will be outright champs in year 1 within the Upstate 8. RB returns to action tomorrow (Saturday), in an afternoon matinee against a tough team from Oak Lawn. Hope to see you there!
Senior Night a Success as Bulldogs come out victorious over West Chicago Imminent weather moved up the game time to 5:30 PM and postponed some senior night festivities until the last game of the season (2/19). What was originally scheduled to be Senior Night for the RB Boys Basketball Team still ended up being a great night, as all 5 seniors on the team saw game action and made meaningful contributions during a 62-33 victory over West Chicago. Thank you to Seniors Vince Dockendorf, Brycen Grove, Danny Loftus, Mantas Sleinys and Noah Wzorek and their families for the many contributions and sacrifices made both on and off the court. These 5 seniors are the embodiment of what it means to play basketball for RB. We thank them for their efforts!
Bulldogs loss tough one to good Glenbard East squad It was an important game Thursday night when the undefeated in conference Bulldogs took on the one-loss Rams from Glenbard East. After beating the Rams in an earlier match-up, this time around RB wasn't as fortunate after the 67-59 defeat. Glenbard East jumped out to a 9 point first quarter lead and the Bulldogs were not able to make up the difference. With the loss, RB and Glenbard East now share first place within our division of the Upstate 8 conference. If both teams win out, the conference title will be shared this season.
Bulldogs improve to 16-8 after victory over rival Morton You can throw out the records anytime that RB and Morton go to battle. Tuesday night in Cicero was no exception, and fortunately RB was able to hang on for a 71-66 victory. The big 3 of Danny Loftus, Vince Dockendorf, and Cameron Mercer scored 18, 17, and 16 points respectively. The Bulldogs return to action Thursday night in a key conference game against Glenbard East. RB's undefeated 2025 year comes to an end after 10 point loss to De La Salle High School. The Bulldogs brought a perfect 6-0 record into the 2025 calendar year to De La Salle High School. Hopeful to keep the 6 game winning streak alive; but unable to do so after De La Salle defeated RB 48-38 in the MLK Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at De La Salle High School. The 38 points scored was a season low for RB. De La Salle's length and size created problems all day, as the Meteors collected 12 offensive rebounds and scored 24 points in the paint. Junior Cameron Mercer led the Dogs in scoring with a game high 22. RB returns to conference action on Friday, with a 7:00 PM tip-off at Elmwood Park High School.
