Bulldog season comes to end after Regional Final loss to Hinsdale Central The RB boys basketball season ended after a disappointing 52-39 loss to Hinsdale Central in the Regional Final at Lane Tech High School. The Bulldogs battled for 4 quarters, and were led by junior Will Gonzalez with 18 points. The loss does not take away from the fact that RB had a terrific season. Highlights include winning 26 games and going undefeated in conference. We had a great group of players and parents that made a multitude of sacrifices during their RB basketball tenures. We appreciate everything that our players brought to the team, and will especially miss seniors Arius Alijosius, Rex Dockendorf, Hunter Ferguson, Aiden Hernandez, Moses Soto, and Marcus Turner. Thank you for exemplifying what it means to be a Bulldog.
Bulldogs win overtime thriller in game 1 of state tournament. The atmosphere was buzzing as the Bulldogs took on Lane Tech High School at Lane Tech in game 1 of the state tournament. RB jumped out to a 1st quarter lead but ended up trailing by 5 at halftime. The second half was tightly contested, and RB ended up prevailing 60-58 in overtime. Multiple players made winning plays on both offense and defense. Junior Stefan Cicic lead the Bulldogs with 20 points and 11 rebounds, including 6 on the offensive end. Will Gonzalez made two huge defensive steals late in the game, and scored 19 points. Senior Arius Alijosius chipped in 13 points and 7 huge rebounds. The Bulldogs will compete for a Regional Championship this Friday, 2/24, at Lane Tech High School against #2 seeded Hinsdale Central. Come out and support the Dogs! Tip-off is at 7:00 PM.
Bulldogs end regular season 25-5, undefeated in conference The RB Bulldogs wrapped up a terrific regular season last night after a 67-62 overtime victory over Aurora Christian. The victory brought the Bulldogs record to an impressive 25-5 in the regular season, and a perfect 12-0 in conference. Stefan Cicic scored a game high 25 points, and Will Gonzalez contributed 11 assists. Congratulations to senior Arius Alijoisus, who set a school record with 104 made 3fg's in a season, breaking a 30+ year record! The #7 seeded Bulldogs will next take the court on Wednesday, February 22nd against 10th seed Lane Tech High School in the Hinsdale Central Sectional. The game kicks off at 7:30 PM at Lane Tech. Closely contested game ends in 3 point Bulldog victory over Oak Lawn The RB Bulldogs grinded out a tough and hard earned victory over a disciplined Oak Lawn team Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs overcame a 7 point halftime deficiet to beat Oak Lawn by a final score of 69-66. The Bulldogs used a 20-11 3rd quarter run to help secure the victory. Starters Arius Alijosius, Stefan Cicic, Will Gonzalez, and key reserve Rex Dockendorf all scored in double figures. Alijosius led the Dogs in scoring with 16, including 5 made 3 point field goals. RB will play their last regular season game this Tuesday, February 14th against Aurora Christian. With a victory, the Bulldogs will look to end their season undefeated in conference.
Senior Night a huge success as Bulldogs beat Timothy Christian It was a special evening Tuesday night as the Bulldogs beat Timothy Christian 58-41 during Senior Night. Before the game, seniors Arius Alijosius, Rex Dockendorf, Hunter Ferguson, Aiden Hernandez, Moses Soto, and Marcus Turner were honored at center court with their families and friends. These 6 young man have been the living embodiment of what it means to be a Bulldog both on and off the court. They have given everything they have to the program during their tenures at RB, and it was special to be able to honor them in front of a packed crowd of supporters. Thank you Arius, Rex, Hunter, Aiden, Moses, and Marcus for everything you have given to the RB basketball program. We appreciate the sacrifices that you and your families have made to be a Bulldog basketball player. Thank you for your successes on and off the court!
Bulldogs clinch conference championship with victory over Wheaton Academy The Riverside Brookfield Boys Basketball team clinched sole possession of 1st place in the Metro Suburban Conference after upending Wheaton Academy 69-57 Tuesday night. The victory brought RB to an impressive 10-0 in conference. Every other team in the conference has at least 3 losses, which guarantees RB sole possession of first place with two conference games remaining in the season. Junior Stefan Cicic again led the way with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Arius Alijosius scored 17, and junior Will Gonzalez chipped in 10. RB returns to action this Friday, February 10th against Timothy Christian. Cicic's last second heroics propel RB past Morton RB had the basketball down 1 point with 8 seconds left in the game. Junior Will Gonzalez, who was having a huge 2nd half, pushed the ball up the court but his shot attempted rimmed out. Enter 6'10" Stefan Cicic, who cleaned up the miss and tipped in with 2 seconds remaining in the game. Morton called timeout, but their last second full court heave fell short, and RB escaped with a 58-57 road win. It was a great atmosphere throughout the game, as fans of both teams had plenty to cheer for. Gonzalez ended up leading the Bulldogs in scoring with 20 points. Cicic contributed 19 points and 17 rebounds, with an astonishing 15 coming on the offensive end. RB returns to action Tuesday night, where the Bulldogs will look to keep their undefeated conference streak alive at Wheaton Academy.

The contest was close throughout, as RB was never able to put away the Spartans from St. Francis. Junior Stefan Cicic again led the way inside, scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Senior Hunter Ferguson scored 13 points including multiple hustle plays throughout the contest, and junior Will Gonzalez scored 11. Senior Rex Dockendorf came of the bench to connect on two huge 3fg attempts in the 2nd quarter. With the win, RB remains undefeated in conference. Lyons Township upends Riverside Brookfield in neighborhood rivalry game. The Bulldogs jumped out to a strong first quarter start Saturday afternoon against Lyons Township High School. The Dogs started the game on an 8-0 run, but took a one point deficit into halftime in a back and forth affair. Ultimately, LT pulled away from RB, and won the neighborhood rivalry game by a score of 61-49. The Bulldogs struggled to find their shooting stroke all game, going 5/31 on 3fga. Lyons more than doubled the Bulldogs in points in the paint, and slowly wore RB down over 4 quarters. Senior Arius Alijosius and junior Stefan Cicic each scored 14 points in defeat. RB returns to action Tuesday, January 31st with a key conference tilt against St. Francis. The game kicks off at 7:00 PM in Wheaton.
Bulldogs cruise past Chicago Christian, remain undefeated in conference. The Bulldogs jumped out to a strong first quarter lead against Chicago Christian Friday night and never looked back. A 21-13 run to start the game helped propel RB to a 78-56 victory. With the win, RB remains in sole possession of first place without a loss in conference. The victory was a total team effort. Prep on Tuesday night in an important game with major ramifications in the Metro Suburban Conference. RB entered the game in first place, with an undefeated record in conference. IC Prep owned sole possession of 2nd place, with their only conference loss occurring in game 1 vs the Bulldogs. RB used a 19-1 2nd quarter run to help secure a 66-48 victory. It was a balanced effort for the Bulldogs, with 4 players in double figures. Juniors Stefan Cicic and Will Gonzalez led the dogs in scoring with 18 and 15 points, respectfully. Senior Arius Alijosius scored 13, and junior Steven Brown came off the bench to score 11. RB returns to action this Friday night against Chicago Christian, and will play neighborhood rival Lyons Township on Saturday at 5:00 PM.
Bulldogs survive triple overtime thriller against Aurora Christian The action was intense in a back-and-forth game Thursday night at Aurora Christian High School. Both teams had opportunities to seal the game at various points throughout the contest, but RB ultimately prevailed 72-66 in the 3rd overtime. Junior Stefan Cicic put forth a monster effort, playing 43 minutes and scoring 28 points while grabbing an RB season high 28 rebounds. Cicic was all over the boards Thursday night, falling 4 rebounds shy of the all-time school record. Junior Will Gonzalez scored 22 points, including a thunderous dunk as time was expiring to help seal the victory. With the win, the Bulldogs remain in first place in conference and take on second place ICCP Tuesday night at RB. Come out and support the Bulldogs in one of our most important games this season. Bulldogs get past tough Fenwick team in front of lively crowd in Oak Park. Fenwick Academy and Riverside Brookfield have had some competitive basketball games over the years, and Monday afternoon in Oak Park was no exception. The Bulldogs prevailed 56-45 in front of a raucous crowd in a game that was televised on WCIU Chicago. The Bulldogs got off to a fast start and were able to maintain their lead throughout all 4 quarters. It was a balanced effort for the Bulldogs, with Stefan Cicic (17 points), Will Gonzalez (16 points), and Arius Alijosius (12 points) leading the way. Senior Marcus Turner hit two big 3 fg's and took two key charges to help seal the victory. The Bulldogs return to action Thursday evening against Aurora Christian, where the team will look to maintain their 1st place standing in conference.

The game was scheduled as part of the MLK Dream Classic Shootout, one of the more competitive events in the area. It was a balanced win for the Bulldogs. Junior Stefan Cicic lead the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding with 21 and 9, respectively. Senior Arius Alijosius contributed 20 points, included 6 made 3 fga. The Bulldogs return to action Monday afternoon against neighborhood rival Fenwick for a 3:00 PM tilt.

Junior Steven Brown came off the bench and provided a great lift; scoring 10 points and going a perfect 4-4 from the field. Bulldogs get past Wheaton Academy, stay undefeated in conference. The Riverside Brookfield Bulldogs got past Wheaton Academy Tuesday night to improve their conference record to 4-0. A strong first quarter helped propel the Bulldogs to a 59-47 victory. Junior Stefan Cicic led 3 Bulldogs in double figures with 22 points. This was Cicic's third straight game scoring 20+ points. Junior Will Gonzalez chipped in 14 points, in part by going 7-7 from the Free Throw line. Bulldogs finish Jack Tosh York Holiday Tournament 3-1 with narrow victory over Palatine The RB varsity Bulldog team finished up the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic with a 1 point victory over Palatine High School. The back-and-forth game was highly competitive throughout; with the Dogs ultimate winning 59-58 in a fun atmosphere. The Bulldogs were again led by Junior Center Stefan Cicic, who scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Congratulations to Cicic on being named to the All-Tournament Team at York. The Bulldogs lost 70-45, and will not have the opportunity to move onto the final four of the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic. RB was paced by Junior Big Man Stefan Cicic, who led the dogs with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Arius Alijosius chopped in 10. The Bulldogs will look to end the Tosh tournament with a 3-1 record when the take on a good Palatine team Thursday evening for a 6:00 PM tip off. Cicic's complete game helps RB advance to Final 8 in Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament Junior Big Man Stefan Cicic played a complete game and stuffed the stat sheet like a holiday stocking. Cicic led the Bulldogs in points, rebounds, and assists; posting a 13-11-7 stat line. Cicic helped power the Bulldogs to a 54-49 win against a very solid Lake Forest team. Alijosius stays hot, helps propel Bulldogs to a first round victory in game 1 of Tosh Tourney A 5 day layoff from game action certainly didn't impact Senior Arius Alijosius hot shooting of late. Alijosius connected on 7 made 3's in 9 attempts, the most made 3's over the past 15 years in the Jack Tosh Holiday tournament. Alijoisius finished with a game high 29 points, as the Bulldogs cruised past Schaumburg High School 59-38 in their first round match up. It was a fun atmosphere and a memorable night for our players competing on the campus and basketball court at UIC. Benet jumped out to an early lead that the Bulldogs were not able to overcome. The team was led by senior Arius Alijosius with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Bulldogs look to get back on track Saturday afternoon at IC Catholic. Gonzalez comes out firing, Bulldogs finish 3rd in the VandeMerkt Classic. Junior Will Gonzalez was on fire Saturday afternoon, connecting on 5 3-pointers in route to a game high 26 points. Behind Gonzalez's sharp shooting, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead over Thornwood High School, leading to a decisive 66-45 victory. With the win, the Bulldogs finished 3rd overall in the 19th Annual Bill VandeMerkt Thanksgiving Classic. Senior Arius Alijosius put on a impressive shooting display; connecting on 8 3-pointers in route to a game high 30 points. In the end, the Bulldogs could not overcome the strong defensive effort of the Condor's, ultimately falling by 10 points. The Bulldogs will play Thornwood High School Saturday afternoon in 3rd place game of the Bill VandeMerkt Thanksgiving Classic.
Bulldogs win big against Hinsdale South, start season 2-0! The Bulldogs improved to 2-0 with a 67-34 win over Hinsdale South. The team came out firing from behind the arch, where junior Will Gonzalez connected on four 3-pointers and senior Arius Alijosius made three. Senior Hunter Ferguson played great defense throughout the game and scored 12 points, including going 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Bulldogs coming out firing, start season with a win in 19th Annual Bill VandeMerkt Thanksgiving Tournament The Riverside Brookfield Varsity boys basketball program got off to a great start with a 60- 35 victory over University High in their first game of the 19th Annual Bill VandeMerkt Thanksgiving Classic. The bulldogs came out on fire, jumping to a 19 to 4 first quarter lead. Senior Arius Alijosius led the Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points, and newcomer Stefan Cicic chipped in 12 points and a couple of thunderous dunks that brought the crowd to its feet. The Bulldogs will look to continue their momentum Wednesday night against Hinsdale South.
