Sophomores Finish 22-2! The Sophomore Bulldogs started the game a little flat in the first half, tied with Wheaton Academy 18-18. The Dogs came out with more energy and focus in the second half and quickly built a 10 point lead in the third quarter. The Dogs led by 8-10 most of the second half but struggled making some free throws down the stretch, finishing with the 47-42 victory. The win improved the Bulldog record to 22-2 overall and 12-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. The 22-2 record is tied for second best record on the sophomore level in school history (109 years--RB began playing basketball in 1907-1908). The Bulldogs were led by Patrick Hanley's 15 points, while Andrew Veon and Reggie Loury each added 7 points. The future is bright for this group of sophomores if they keep working hard and stay dedicated.
Sophomores Fall To Lyons Township! The Sophomore Bulldogs had a rare poor offensive night against a very good defensive Lyons Township team. falling to the Lyons 45-33. The Bulldogs were led by Sam Grivetti with 10 points and Ryan Cermak with 8 points. The Dogs are now 21-2 overall and close out the season on Tuesday, February 21st at 6:00pm at Wheaton Academy.
Sophomores Win 11th Straight Conference Championship! The Sophomore Bulldogs withstood a great effort from Glenbard South. The Raiders played extremely hard and led the Bulldogs 10-9 after one quarter and increased the lead to 16-9 before the Bulldogs made a run to close out the first half with a 22-18 lead. The Bulldogs withstood a few Glenbard South runs, but controlled most of the second half, building their lead to as many as 12 points,, before leading 38-28 after three quarters and finished with the 53-46 victory. Patrick Hanley and Sam Grivetti led the Bulldogs with 13 points each, while Charles Terry added 10 points. The Bulldogs improve to 21-1 overall and 11-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. The Bulldogs travel to neighborhood rival, Lyons Township at 3:30pm on Saturday, February 18th.
Sophomores Clinch at least a tie for Conference Championhip! The Sophomore Bulldogs clinched at least a tie for their 11th straight conference championship with 2 games to go, defeating the Fenton Bison 59-24, in a game that saw the Bulldogs lead 24-7 after one quarter and 36-15 at halftime before cruising to the victory. Patrick Hanley led the Bulldogs with 20 points and 4 assists. Andrew Veon chipped in 14 points and Sam Grivetti had 8 points and 7 rebounds in the win. The Bulldogs improve to 20-1 overall and 10-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. Next up for the Bulldogs if Friday, February 17th at Glenbard South at 5:30pm.
Sophomores Improve to 19-1! The Sophomore Bulldogs jumped out to a 29-11 first quarter lead and never looked back, cruising to an 80-45 victory. The win was the Bulldogs 10th straight and improve them to 19-1 overall and 9-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. Patrick Hanley led the Bulldog charge with 18 points and 4 assists. Andrew Veon had a solid overall game with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Sam Grivetti chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Charles Terry had 10 points and 6 assists, while Havon Jacobs added 8 points and 4 assists. The win was also a milestone in Coach Reingruber's career, as it was his 300th win at the sophomore level since taking over the sophomore program in the 2001-02 season. Coach Reingruber now has 300 wins and 85 losses during his stint as sophomore coach. Next up for the Bulldogs is Tuesday, February 14th at 5:30pm vs. Fenton at Riverside Brookfield.
Sophomores Improve to 18-1 With Win Vs. Fenwick! The Sophomore Bulldogs led the Fenwick Friars 14-11 after one quarter. However, Fenwick shot the ball very well in the second quarter, making 5 three pointers and the Dogs trailed 27-23 at halftime. Fenwick increased their lead to 9 points early in the third quarter, but after that it was all Bulldogs. The Dogs trailed 40-39 after three quarters and held the Friars to only 4 points in the fourth quarter, before finishing with the 49-44 victory. Sam Grivetti led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Patrick Hanley and Andrew Veon both added 11 points. The win is the 9th in a row for the Bulldogs and they move to 18-1 overall for the season. Next up for the Bulldogs, is Aurora Central Catholic at 5:30pm on Friday, February 10th at Dudley Gymnasium.
Sophomores Keep Rolling! The Sophomore Dogs won their 8th game in a row and improve to 17-1 overall with a solid 58-32 victory over Illiana Christian. The Dogs trailed 10-8 early in the first quarter and went on a 12-0 run to close out the quarter and led 20-10 after one quarter. Illiana made an early run in the second quarter cutting the Bulldog lead to 24-21, but the Vikings never got closer as the Bulldogs went into halftime with a 28-21 lead. The Dogs held Illiana to just 11 second half points and finished with the solid victory. Sam Grivetti led the Bulldogs with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Patrick Hanley added 12 points and Ryan Cermak chipped in 9 points. The Bulldogs travel to Oak Park to face a talented Fenwick team on Saturday, February 4th at 4:00pm.
Sophomores Defeat St. Joe's! The Sophomore Bulldogs played a solid game against a talented St. Joseph Charger team. The Bulldogs trailed by one after a quarter and led by 2 at halftime. The Bulldogs led 26-22 after three quarters, before playing a very solid 4th quarter and finishing with the 38-28 victory. Andrew Veon led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Sam Grivetti chipped in 8. The Bulldogs are now 16-1 overall and travel to Illiana Christian on Friday, February 3rd at 5:30pm.
Sophomores Improve to 15-1! The Sophomore Bulldogs played a pretty complete game on the defensive end against IC Catholic Prep. The Bulldogs led 14-8 after one quarter and 23-10 at halftime before finishing with the 45-27 victory. The Dogs shared the ball very well with 16 assists on 20 made baskets. Patrick Hanley had 15 points and 4 assists, while Sam Grivetti chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds in the win. The Bulldogs improve to 15-1 overall and 7-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. The Bulldogs travel to Batavia for the Night of Hoops to take on St. Joseph at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 28th.
Sophomores Hold On For Win! The Sophomore Bulldogs and Chicago Christian were in a tight game for the first 2 1/2 quarters and the Bulldogs went on a 12-0 run to close out the first half and take a 33-19 lead into halftime. The Knights didn't give up and chipped at the Bulldog lead due to many good plays made by the Knights and many miscues by the Bulldogs. Int he end, the Bulldogs held on for the 58-56 victory and improved to 14-1 on the season. The Bulldogs host IC Catholic Prep on Friday, January 27th.
Sophomores Win High Scoring Affair! The Sophomore Bulldogs were on fire in the first quarter, making 6 three pointers en route to a 32-14 lead after one. The Bulldogs led 48-35 at halftime and 65-51 after three quarters. However, the Raiders continued to battle and shot the ball very well making 12 three pointers for the game. The Raiders cut the lead to 71-65, before the Bulldogs closed it out by making 9 out of 11 free throws in the last 3 minutes to finish with the 80-71 victory. Andrew Veon led the Bulldogs with 31 points and 7 rebounds. Patrick Hanley added 25 points, while Sam Grivetti added a double double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Reggie Loury chipped in 8 points. The Bulldogs improve to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. The Dogs host Chicago Christian on Friday, January 17th at 5:30pm.
Sophomores Improve to 12-1! The Sophomore Bulldogs led 35-17 at halftime and blew the game wide open in the second half, cruising to a 71-40 victory. Sam Grivetti led the Bulldogs with 20 points. Sophomore Defeat Wheaton Academy! The Sophomore Bulldogs jumped out to a 9-0 lead and 21-7 first quarter lead. Wheaton Academy outplayed the Bulldogs in the second quarter and cut the Bulldog lead to 28-21 at halftime. The Dogs came out and set the tone in the third quarter, increasing their lead to as many as 22 points, before finishing the game with the 58-46 victory. Andrew Veon led the Bulldogs with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Patrick Hanley added 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Charles Terry chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. The Bulldogs improve to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. The Bulldogs travel to Elgin St. Edward on Friday, January 13th at 6:00pm.
Sophomores Beat Leo-Finish 3rd! The Sophomore Bulldogs bounced back from a very disappointing loss yesterday, to defeat Leo 59-48. The Dogs jumped out to a quick lead, and took a 14-8 lead after one quarter. The Lions responded by going on an 8-0 run to start the second quarter and the Dogs trailed 16-14. After that run, it was all Bulldogs. The Dogs led 32-25 at halftime and led by as many as 15 in the second half before finishing the victory. Patrick Hanley led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Sam Grivetti added 14 points. Andrew Veon had 8 points and 5 rebounds, while Charles Terry had 8 points and 4 assists. The Sophomores improve to 10-1 and next host Wheaton Academy on Friday, January 6th at 5:30pm.
Sophomores Roll Reavis! The Sophomore Bulldogs jumped out to a 14-1 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 62-30 lead over the Reavis Rams. The Bulldogs showed great balance with Sam Grivetti leading the way, with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Patrick Hanley and Ryan Cermak each chipped in 13 points. Andrew Veon had a solid overall game with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Charles Terry led the Bulldogs with 8 assists. The Bulldogs showed their unselfishness, by having an incredible 23 assists on 25 made baskets. The Dogs improve to 9-0 and take on York at 12:00 on Tuesday, December 27th in the Big Gold tournament at St. Laurence High School.
Sophomores Take Care of Fenton! The Sophomores jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and led 26-0 before the Bison scored. The Dogs led 39-7 at halftime behind very solid team defense and never looked back, winning 58-15. Eleven Bulldogs scored in the game, led by Reggie Loury's 14 points and 5 steals. Sam Grivetti added 12 points and Ryan Cermak chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds. The Bulldogs improve to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. The Bulldogs next game is Monday, December 26th at 9:00am vs. Reavis in the St. Laurence Big Gold Christmas Tournament.

The Sophomore Bulldogs jumped out to a 16-2 first quarter lead and never looked back, leading 32-14 at halftime and 54-22 after 3 quarters, before clearing the bench for the fourth quarter and finishing with the 60-42 victory. Sam Grivetti led the Bulldogs with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Patrick Hanley added 9 points and Havon Jacobs added 7 for the Dogs. The Bulldogs improve to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. The Dogs play at Fenton on Tuesday, December 20th at 5:30pm.
Sophomores Grind Out Victory vs. Glenbard East! The Sophomore Bulldogs withstood a very solid test from Glenbard East, trailing 11-7 after one quarter. The Dogs started to play a little better in the second quarter, taking a 24-23 lead into halftime. The Dogs and Rams traded baskets in the fourth quarter with many ties, but the Dogs never relinquished the lead and took a 40-36 after 3 quarters. The fourth quarter was just as close and saw the game tied with 3 minutes to play. The Bulldogs were able to make some plays on the offensive end and get some stops at the defensive end to finish with a 52-47 victory. Sam Grivetti led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Patrick Hanley and Ryan Cermak both chipped in 12 points, with Hanley adding 5 assists. Andrew Veon had a solid game finishing with 8 points and 6 rebounds. The win improves the Bulldogs record to 6-0 overall and the Dogs travel to Aurora Central Catholic on Friday, December 16th to take on the Chargers at 6:00pm in a Metro Suburban Conference game.
Sophomores Improve to 5-0! The Sophomore Bulldogs led Illiana Christian 14-11 after one quarter and 28-19 at halftime. The Dogs came out fired up in the third quarter and expanded their lead to 46-27 after three quarters. The Dogs led by 20-22 points for most of the fourth quarter before finishing with the 57-41 victory. Sam Grivetti led the Bulldogs with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Charles Terry added 11 points and 4 assists. Andrew Veon chipped in 10 points. The Bulldogs improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference. Sophomore Win Tourney Title! The Bill VandeMerkt Classic Sophomore championship game was a great back and forth game between the Bulldogs and Oak Park River Forest Huskies. The Dogs were up 13-12 after one quarter and trailed 23-22 at halftime, before taking a 33-31 lead after 3 quarters. Oak Park had a shot at the buzzer for the win, but the Bulldogs held on for the 45-44 victory, claiming the championship. Ryan Cermak was huge off the bench, leading the Bulldogs with 13 points. Sam Grivetti added 10 points, while Charles Terry had a solid all around game with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The Bulldogs improve to 3-0 overall and play at IC Catholic Prep on Friday, December 2nd at 6:00pm in the Metro Suburban Conference opener.

The Sophomore Bulldogs jumped out to a 14-2 first quarter lead, holding the Indians of Lane Tech to 2 free throws. The Dogs expanded their lead to 34-15 at the half before cruising to a 61-39 victory. Andrew Veon led the Bulldogs with 17 points, while Patrick Hanley had a solid overall game with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Sam Grivetti added 10 points and Charles Terry chipped in 4 points, 7 assists, and 11 rebounds. The Dogs improve to 2-0 and take on Oak Park River Forest for the Bill VandeMerkt tournament championship at 4:00pm on Saturday, November 26th.

The Sophomore Bulldogs played great defense throughout the game and jumped out to a 12-4 first quarter lead and extended the lead to 25-8 at halftime, before finishing with a 45-18 victory.
