2015-16 Freshman

2015-16 Freshman:

Lyons Township
The A Team started out slow and fell behind 15-6 after the first quarter.   However, the second quarter was all Bulldogs and the team led 29-22 at the half.    Then the Dogs were able to hold on for a 53-50 win. Patrick Hanley led the team with 19 points, including 5 three-pointers.   Sam Grivetti added 15 points.   Andrew Veon had a strong game with 7 points and 9 rebounds and Ryan Cermak Contributed 7 points and 6 assists.   THe A Team finished the season 18-6 and won 14 of its last 15 games.   They tied for first place in the Metro Suburban Conference with a 10-2 conference record.

The B Team struggled with turnovers and lost to LT 40-26. Reggie Loury led the team with 10 points.   Nate Roberto added 6.   The B Team finished with a 10-10 record and a 5-2 record in the league.

Glenbard South
The A Team played a terrific first half that propelled them to a 50-37 win over Glenbard South.   Sam Grivetti had his second consecutive double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds.   Patrick Hanley scored 12 points and had 5 assists. Ryan Cermak scored 7 points, Andrew Veon tallied 6, and Hahvon Jacobs added 5 points while playing terrific defense on their best player.

The B Team lost a close game 42-40.   Loose balls and offensive rebounds were their downfall.   Tre Mikus led the team with 11 points.   Colby Campbell scored 7 and Matt Lams added 6.

St Edwards
The A Team easily defeated St. Edwards 59-18 for their 12 win in the last 13 games.   Sam Grivetti led the team with a double double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.   Andrew Veon played a great all-around game with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.   Nate Lucas contributed 8 points.

The B Team also won handily by the score of 75-12.   Colby Campbell led the Dogs with 22 points.   Matt Lams scored 18, Tre Mikus scored 14, Erick Elem scored 12, and John Kurth added 9 points.

Fenton
The A Team easily handled Fenton 69-22 with a well rounded performance with many contributors.   Patrick Hanley scored 12 points and had 6 assists.   Andrew Veon and Zack Veselsky scored 12 points also.   Sam Grivetti scored 10 points and Charles Terry had 8 points, 8 assists, and 5 steals.   Nate Lucas and Hahvon Jacobs each scored 6 points.

The B Team also won by the score of 70-23.   Nate Roberto led the team 18 points.   Erick Elem scored 11 points and Erin Redovan, Reggie Loury, and Colby Campbell each added 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Aurora Central Catholic
Despite missing many easy layups the A Team beat ACC 50-43.   Sam Grivetti had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.   Hahvon Jacobs had a season high of 13 points to go along with 3 steals.   Patrick Hanley scored 11 and Andrew Veon added 10 points and 6 rebounds.

The B Team played terrific basketball on both ends of the floor and easily beat ACC 53-17.   Matt Lams had a huge game with 17 points.   Nate Lucas scored 8 points.   Tre Mikus, Erin Redovan, Colby Campbell, and Zach Veselsky scored 6 points each.

IC Prep
The Bulldog A Team lost to IC Prep 49-47.   The Dogs fell behind behind by as many as 12 points in the frist half, but battled back to take the lead with less than one minute left in the game.   Patrick Hanley scored 17 points to lead the team.   Charles Terry had 9 points and 5 assists. Sam Grivetti scored 8 points, Adrew Veon scored 7, and Ryan Cermak added 6.

Glenbard East
The A team won its 9th straight game beating Glenbard East 51-30.   The Dogs did a great job against East's press.   Sam Grivetti scored 17 points for the Bulldogs.   Charles Terry scored 11 points to go along with 5 rebounds.   Patrick Hanley added 10 points and 5 assists.

The B Team couldn't overcome a double digit deficit in the 4th quarter and lost 38-36.   Matt Lams had a nice game with 12 points.   Nate Roberto scored 9 and Erin Redovan added 6.

Ridgewood
The B Team beat Ridgewood 37-20.   Matt Lams led the team with 14 points.   Erin Redovan added 8 for the Bulldogs.

Wheaton Academy
Charles Terry made a runner as time expired to give the Bulldogs a 38-37 win over Wheaton Academy.   On a night where the Dog's couldn't make a shot, their defense won them the game.   Sam Grivetti lead the team with 13 points and 12 rebounds.   Patrick Hanley scored 12 points and Ryan Cermak added 6.   Terry scored 5 points and had 4 assists.

Illiana Christian
The A Team came out very flat on the defensive end of the floor and trailed Illiana Christian 24-20 at the half. Luckily they picked up their effort and won the game 44-35.   Patrick Hanley led the team with 15 points and 6 assists.   Charles Terry scored 9 points and had 5 assists.   Sam Grivetti scored 8 points and had 5 rebounds, and Ryan Cermak added 7 points.

The B Team got back to winning ways with a 53-36.   Erick Elem led the team with 15 points.   Nate Roberto and Colby Campbell each scored 12 points.

St. Joseph
The A Team beat St. Joes 59-26.   The score was tied 14 all halfway through the second quarter and the Dogs proceeded to outscore the Chargers 45-12 the rest of the game.   Patrick Hanley scored 14 points including 4 3-pointers.   Andrew Veon scored 11 points and pulled down 5 boards.   Ryan Cermak scored 11 points to go along with 3 steals.   Sam Grivetti scored 8 points and Charles Terry had 5 assists.

St. Edwards
The A Team won their fifth straight game 58-20 against St. Eds.   Andrew Veon led the team with 14 points and 4 steals.   Sam Grivetti and Ryan Cermak each scored 11.   Nate Lucas scored 8 points and pulled down 8 boards.   The B Team did not play.

Glenbard South
The A Team played their best defensive game of the year in a 39-14 victory over Glenbard South.   They held the Raiders to only 3 first half points in a dominating defensive effort.   Ryan Cermak led the Dogs with 9 points and 5 Rebounds.   Patrick Hanley also scored 9 points.   Andrew Veon had a nice all-around game with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.   Nate Lucas contributed 7 rebounds and 3 block shots.

The B Team played pretty poorly on defense and lost 47-42.   The B Team fouled way too much and the Raiders shot 33 fret throws in the game.   Nate Roberto led the team with 15 points.   Tre Mikus added 9 points and Erin Redovan scored 8 for the Bulldogs.

St. Ignatius
The A Team beat St. Ignatius 35-30 in a defensive battle.   Ryan Cermak led the Dogs with 11 points.   Andrew Veon played a nice all around game by scoring 7 points, pulling down 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.   Patrick Hanley scored 7 points.   Nate Lucas had 3 block shots and Jacob Veselsky and Tre Mikus hit key 3 pointers.

The B Team struggled to score in a 24-18 loss.   Tre Mikus and Colby Campbell each scored 5 points to lead the dogs.

Marist 12/22/15-
The A Team played very well in a 63-53 win over Marist. The team had 20 assists on 22 made baskets. Sam Grivetti scored 21 points. Patrick Hanley scored 13 points and had 6 assists. Ryan Cermak had 8 points and 4 assists. Havon Jacobs had 7 points and 4 assists and Andrew Veon scored 7 points.

The B Team again executed poorly in the 4th quarter and lost to Marist 32-29. Colby Campbell led the team with 10 points. Tre Mikus and Erin Redovan each scored 4 points.

St. Francis and Andrew 12/21/15
The A Team led most of the way in a 51-44 win over St. Francis. Andrew Veon led the Dogs with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Sam Grivetti Scored 12 points and pulled down 6 boards. Ryan Cermak scored 10 points and Patrick Hanley scored 6 points to go along with 4 assists.

The B Team beat Andrew 38-26. Nate Roberto and Derwin Bass each scored 7 points to lead the Bulldogs to the win.

St. Laurence 12/19/15
The A Team lost to St Laurence 56-53 in a game they should have one. The Dogs were destroyed on the boards and this led to many second chance opportunities to the Vikings. Sam Grivetti and Ryan Hanley each scored 17 points. Andrew Veon had 10 points and 5 rebounds. Charles Terry had 6 assists and 0 turnovers.

The B Team was tied after 3 quarters, but did not score in the 4th quarter of the game. This led to a 38-28 loss. Nate Roberto scored 8 points and Erick Elem scored 7.

Fenton 12/17/15
The A Team easily beat Fenton 72-25. The Bulldogs scored 32 straight points in the first half. 11 Bulldogs scored in the game. Nate Lucas had 12 points and 8 Boards to lead the Dogs. Sam Grivetti scored 12, Patrick Hanley tallied 9 points and Andrew Veon and Ryan Cermak each added 8 points. Charles Terry had 6 assists and 5 steals.

The B Team remained undefeated in conference with a 55-14 win. Derwin Bass led the team with 13 points. Erin Redovan scored 11 points and Matt Lams added 10 points.

Aurora Central Catholic 12/15/15
Sam Grivetti had 27 points 12 rebounds and 3 blocks to lead the Freshman A Team to a 52-42 win over ACC. Patrick Hanley scored 9 points and Andrew Veon added 9 for the Dogs. Charles Terry contributed 5 assists and 4 steals to the winning effort. Ryan Cermak also had 4 steals. B Team did not play.

IC Catholic Prep-
The A Team played a very poor game on offense and lost 39-35 to IC Catholic Prep. Poor execution led to 20 turnovers. Sam Grivetti led the Dogs with 12 points. Andrew Veon pulled down 7 boards and Charles Terry contributed 5 assists.

The B Team played a very well rounded game and easily handled IC Catholic Prep. Nate Lucas led the team with 15 points. Colby Campbell scored 7 points and John Kurth and Tre Mikes each added 6.

Wheaton Warrenville South 12/7/15
The A Team lost to WWS 33-21. Very poor execution on offense and turnovers were the main culprit in the Bulldogs season low point total. Charles Terry and Sam Grivetti each scored 5 points.

The B Team also struggled against the WWS zone and lost 37-30. John Kurth led the Dogs with 10 points.

Wheaton Academy 12/4/15
The A Team played very well on both sides of the ball to beat Wheaton Academy 57-32. The Bulldogs played great defense and had 19 assists on 24 made baskets. Patrick Hanley led the team with 18 points including 4 of 5 from 3 point range. Charles Terry and Sam Grivetti both scored 12 points. Andrew Veon played a very nice all around game with 10 points, 6 assists, and 5 steals. The B team did not play.

Fenwick 11/28/15
The A Team played very poor defense and lost to Fenwick 59-48. The 59 points is the most points allowed at the Freshman level in 5 years. Sam Grivetti and Charles Terry each scored 12 points for the Bulldogs.

The B Team couldn't hold on to a 10 point 4th quarter lead and lost to Fenwick 43-39. John Kurth led the team with 15 points by knocking down 5 three-pointers.

St. Rita 11/27/15
The A Team lost to St. Rita 53-44. The Bulldogs played a great first half and led 32-22, but between bad turnovers and missed open shots they only managed to score 12 points in the second half. Charles Terry scored 12 points and had 5 rebounds. Patrick Hanley scored 11 points and had 5 assists. Sam Gravetti tallied 8 points and pulled down 9 rebounds.

The B Team improved to 2-0 by beating St. Rita 51-44 in overtime. John Kurth led the team with 16 points including making 5 three-pointers. Nate Lucas and Erin Redovan each scored 10 points.

Argo 11/25/15

The Freshman A Team opened the season with a 53-18 win over Argo. Sam Grivetti had a monster game with 21 point, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Patrick Hanley scored 12 points and had 5 assists. Ryan Cermak scored 8 points and had 3 assists and Andrew Veon added 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Zach Veselsky and Hahvon Jacobs pulled down 7 and 6 boards each.

The B Team also opened the year with a 35-23 win against Argo. Nate Lucas led the team with 8 points. Erin Redovan and Noah Osowski each scored 7 points for the Dogs.
