2-17-12 vs Illiana Christian
The Bulldog A Team played some of their best basketball of the year for the first 3 quarters and took a lead of 48-33 going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter a string of bad turnovers let Illiana send the game into overtime at 52-52. The Dogs played great defense in the OT and made 5-8 FT's and pulled out a 57-55 victory. Matt Nicolai had a monster game for the Bulldogs by scoring 17 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Kevin Fitzgerald made four 3-pointers and ended up with 19 points. Justice White scored 9 points by making three 3-pointers. Jake Lucas played a very solid game by scoring 6 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Ryan Hanley and David Franco each had 4 assists to lead the team. With this win the Bulldogs put themselves into position to win a conference championship if they can win next Saturday against Ridgewood.
The B team overcame a lackluster first half effort and dominated the second half to secure a 58-37 victory. Will Bloom turned in a terrific performance after battling a season long illness by scoring 16 points. Jordan Petronella scored 14 points, Jake Surprenant scored 13, and Nick Fucinato added 8. The B team can also clinch a conference championship with a victory next Saturday against Ridgewood.
2-13-12 vs Fenton
The A Team overcame a very slow start and a shaky finish to beat Fenton 38-34. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Jake Lucas who recorded 11 points. Matt Nicaolai added 8 points and 5 rebounds. The Dogs shot a season high 21 free-throws and made 15 of them. David Franco make 2 FT's with less than 10 seconds to clinch the victory.
The B Team beat Fenton 42-35. They were led in scoring by Jack Hayes who scored 13 points. Jake Surprenant scored 12. David Wackrow had 8 points and 8 rebounds and Nick Fucinato scored 6 points and led the team with 4 assists.
2-9-12 vs Glenbard South
The Freshman A Team blew a 9 point fouth quarter lead and lost to Glenbard South 50-47. The 50 points allowed, the second highest all season, and 6 turnovers in the last couple minutes of the fourth quarter contributed to the loss. Matt Nicolai had 14 points and 6 rebounds. Kevin Fitzgerald scored 13 points and Justice White added 10. Ryan Hanley led the team with 6 assists.
The B Team played their best game of the season and won 46-21. They dominated the game from start to finish. They were led in scoring by David Wackrow who scored 11 points. Luke Surprenant add 8 points.
2-6-12 vs Timothy Christian
Even though the Bulldogs were missing 4 players due to illness they were able to come away with two wins against Timothy Christian. The A Team won 51-27. Kevin Fitzgerald led the way with 12 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals. David Franco scored a season high 11 points while Jake Lucas and Ryan Hanley contributed 10 and 8 points. Henry Gresick led the team with 6 rebounds.
The B Team in a 2 Quarter game defeated Timothy Christian 17-14. David Wackrow had 9 points and Steven Baer added 6.
1-31-12 vs Elmwood Park
The Freshman A Team beat Elmwood Park 58-34. Kevin Fitzgerald had a very good all around game with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jake Lucas had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 58% from the field in one of their better shooting games of the season.
1-28-12 vs Illiana Christian
The A team could not overcome a poor shooting game in a 36-30 loss to Illiana Christian. The Bulldogs, who played very good on the defensive end of the floor led 25-22 after 3 quarters but were outscored 14-5 in the fourth. Kevin Fitzgerald led the team with 12 points and Justice White chipped in 8. Matt Nicolai led the team with 6 rebounds.
The B Team also played a very good game on defense in their 36-22 victory. Jake Surprenant scored 15 points and Nick Fucinato added 8. Luke Surprenant led the team with 4 assists and Jordan Petronella pulled down 7 rebounds.
1-27-12 vs Ridgewood
The Freshman A Team beat Ridgewood 55-29. The Bulldogs came out very focused and led 12-0 after the first quarter. The team was led in scoring and rebounding by Matt Nicolai who recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards. Henry Gresick scored 9 points off the bench. Jake Lucas had 6 points and 8 rebounds and Will Bloom led the team with 5 assists.
The B Team also played very well and had one of their best defensive efforts of the season. They won 51-20 and were led in scoring by Nick Fucinato who scored 12 points. Jordan Petronella and David Wackrow both scored 8 points.
1-23-12 vs Wheaton Warrenville South
The Freshman A Team lost 41-34 to WWS in a very hard fought contest. The Bulldogs played a very good game on defense, but just couldn't get enough defensive rebounds or make enough shots down the stretch to win the game. The 16 second chance points WWS scored was the difference in the game. Kevin Fitzgerald led the Dogs with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Ryan Hanley and Matt Nicolai both had 8 points.
The B Team lost 40-34. The Bulldogs could not overcome 18 turnovers. Jordan Petronella led the team with 10 points and 10 rebounds. David Wackrow contributed 6 points and 9 rebounds.
1-17-12 vs St. Laurence
The Freshman A Team avenged an earlier loss by beating St. Laurence 42-33. In a very physical game, the Dogs were led by there post tandem of Matt Nicolai and Jake Lucas. Nicolai finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Lucas added 11 points 9 rebounds. The defensive effort and intensity the Bulldogs played with helped them hold the Vikings to only 33 points, a 15 pt turnaround from the first game.
The B Team wasn't quit as sharp in their 43-17 loss. A terrible shooting game kept the Bulldogs from mounting a serious challenge throughout the game. David Wackrow scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Petronella had 8 rebounds.
1-14-12 vs Fenton
The Freshman A Team improved to 4-0 in conference and 9-5 overall with a 41-22 win over Fenton. They team had incredible balance on the offensive end of the floor. Ryan Hanley led the team with 7 points. Justice White, Kevin Fitzgerald, Nick Fucinato, and Jake Lucas scored 6 points. David Franco and Matt Nicolai both contributed 5 points. The team was led in rebounding by David Wackrow with 7 boards. David Franco and Ryan Hanley both had 4 assists. The Bulldogs did a great job with the ball by only turning the ball over 6 times.
The B Team also had a great effort on both ends of the floor. They beat Fenton 37-17. The team was led in scoring by Jake Surprenant and Jordan Petronella who both scored 10. Henry Gresick added 9 points and 11 rebounds. Jack Hayes and Kyle Tracy both had 6 rebounds. Steven Baer contributed 3 assists.
1-7-12 vs Glenbard South
The Freshman A Team put together one of their most complete games of the season in a 45-29 win over Glenbard South High School. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Kevin Fitzgerald with 12 points. Justice White starting in place of the injured Wil Bloom played a great game. He scored 10 points and had 4 assists. Matt Nicolai led the team with 9 boards. Ryan Hanley also had 4 assists for the Bulldogs. Jake Lucas played a solid game ending up with 5 points and 6 rebounds. A key to the game was the Bulldog bench led by David Franco and Henry Gresick. They combined for 11 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
The B Team was not able to overcome a slow start and lost 40-29. The team had 21 turnovers which led into many easy baskets for GSHS. The team was led in scoring by Nick Fucinato who despite battling the flu scored 7 points. He also had 5 steals. David Wackrow and Jake Surprenant both scored 6 points. Wackrow also led the team with 10 rebounds.
12-28-11 vs York/Morton
The Freshman A Team lost a stongly contested game against York 42-39. Overall the Dogs played a very good game, but could not overcome some untimely turnovers and offensive rebounds. The team was led in scoring by Matt Nicolai who scored 16 points on 6-9 shooting and 3-3 from the FT line. Kevin Fitzgerald added 15 points. Ryan Hanley led the team with 5 rebounds.
The Freshman B Team won a hard fought game against Morton to win 3rd Place in the B Bracket of the Downers North Xmas Tourney!!!!!! The Bulldogs, who won 35-34, were led in scoring by Jack Surprenant with 17 points. Nick Fucinato added 9 points and played a great game overall. Steven Baer also chipped in 6 points.
12-27-11 vs Stagg/Downers Grove North
The freshman boy's teams split their games on day 2 of the DGN Xmas Tourney. The A Team overcame a slow start on offense to win 37-29. They were led in scoring by Kevin Fitzgerald with 10 points and matt Nicolai with 8. Jake Lucas had a great rebounding game by clearing 13 boards.
The B Team lost a heartbreaker to Downers Grove North. DGN made a 3 pointer in the last 6 seconds to win the game. The team was led in scoring by Jake Surprenant who scored 17 points. This included 5 three point baskets. Steven Baer chipped in 8 points for the Dogs. David Wackrow dominated the boards and pulled down 15 rebounds.
12-26-11 vs St Laurence
The Freshman teams split their games in the opening round of the Downers Grove North Christmas Tournament. The A Team lost 48-35 while the B Team advanced in the winners bracket by winning 36-32. Kevin Fitzgerald scored 11 points and Matt Nicolai scored 10. Jake Lucas pulled down 8 boards.
12-16-11 vs Timothy Christian
The A Team beat Timothy Christian 54-28. For the second straight game the team shot the ball well by connecting on 60% of their shots. The team was led in scoring by Jake Lucas who tallied 14 points 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Matt Nicolai contributed 8 points and Will Bloom 7 points. Kevin Fitzgerald and Ryan Hanley led the team with 4 assists each.
The B Team played a 2 Quarter game and won 14-11. Kyle Tracy scored 6 points and did a terrrific job on the glass. David Wackrow scored 4 points.
12-14-11 vs Glenbard East
The A Team ended their 2 game losing streak with an impressive 53-21 victory over Glenbard East. The Bulldogs played their best offensive game of the season. They shot 50% from the field and had assists on 14 of their 22 baskets. Kevin Fitzgerald had a great overall game with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Justice White also had 8 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jake Lucas and Matt Nicolai contributed 8 and 7 points.
The B Team lost 40-33. They were led by Luke Surprenant with 10 points. Nick Fucinato added 9 points and Henry Gresick scored 7.
12-6-11 vs. Providence Catholic
The A and B Teams split their games with Providence Catholic. The A Team played a very poor game that resulted in a 53-29 loss. Not only did the team give up a season high of 53 points they had their worse offensive game of the season. Justice White led the team with 8 points and Matt Nicolai pulled down 8 rebounds.
The B Team on the other hand came through with a terrific effort on both ends of the floor. They scored a season high 44 points and did a very good job matching up with PCA's shooters. The team was led in scoring by Steven Baer with 15 points. Nick Fucinato added 9 points. Kyle Tracy led the team with 10 rebounds. Luke Surprenant led the team with 4 assists and did a great job running the team and playing defense.
12-5-11 vs. Lyons Township
Both the Freshman A and B Teams lost hard fought games against LT. The A Team lost 41-40 in overtime. The team was led by Jake Lucas who scored 10 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. The Dogs competed extremely hard on both ends of the floor but were done in by 20 turnovers and only shooting 6 for 12 from the freethrow line.
The B Team lost 38-26. After a quick start the Bulldogs were unable to hold on to their lead in the second half. They were led by Jake Surprenant who scored 11 points.
12-3-11 vs Elmwood Park
The Freshman A Team began conference play with a 66-12 victory over Elmwood Park. The Bulldogs had 17 steals and forced over 30 turnovers. The team also had 15 assists and turned the ball over only 8 times. Jordan Petronella came off the bench and led the team with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Matt Nicolai scored 9 points and EaShaun Banks and Jake Surprenant had 8 each. David Franco and Nick Fucinato led the team with 4 assists.
11-25-11 vs. Nazareth Academy
The Freshman A and B teams both improved to 3-1 with wins over Nazareth Academy. The A Team won 31-28 and was led by Matt Nicolai who recorded the seasons first double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Fitzgerald added 8 points and 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The Bulldogs continued to take care of the ball. They only turned the ball over 8 times while forcing over 20 Roadrunner turnovers.
The B Team won their game 28-21. A very balanced scoring attack helped the Bulldogs to victory. Matt Chapp had 5 points. Nick Fucinato, Steven Baer, Tommy Quick, Henry Gresick, and Jordan Petronella all tallied 4 points. Fucinato led the team with 5 assists and Petronella pulled down 8 rebounds.
11-21-11 vs. Mount Carmel
The Freshman A and B teams opened the season with a couple of losses. The A team lost to Mt. Carmel 43-27. It was a very good defensive effort, however, the team could not overcome a bad shooting day. Kevin Fitzgerald led the team with 14 points. Matt Nicolai and Jake Lucas both had 4 rebounds while Will Bloom led the team with 3 assists.
The B team lost 44-39 to Mt. Carmel. Matt Chapp led the team with 11 points. Jordan Petronella had a very good game. He scored 8 point and pulled down 11 rebounds.
11-22-11 vs Fenwick
Both Freshman teams came up with huge defensive efforts to beat Fenwick to even their records at 1-1. The A Team beat Fenwick 35-28 in overtime. After another slow offensive start the Bulldogs were able to keep the game close with some very good defense. Will Bloom hit a 3 pointer with 7 seconds left in the game to tie the game at 28. The Bulldogs then got the defensive stop they needed to send the game into overtime. In the OT, the Bulldogs dominated the Friars by out scoring them 7-0. Will Bloom led the team with 10 points. Jake Lucas and Matt Nicolai dominated the boards with 9 and 10 rebounds each. Ryan Hanley and David Franco did a terrific job shutting down Fenwicks best player and limiting him to only 5 points.
The B Team also put together a terrific defensive effort in defeating the Friars 42-28. The team was led by Matt Chapp who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Jake Surprenant chipped in 13 points while knocking down 4 three pointers.
11-23-11 vs. Argo
The Freshman A and B Teams both picked up wins against Argo in dominating fashion. As has been the case, the defense led the way for the Bulldogs. The A Team won by an impressive score of 61-13. Midway through the second quarter the Bulldogs led 18-13. At that point the defensive pressure took over. The Bulldogs held Argo scoreless for the rest of the way, ending the game on a 43-0 run. The team was led is scoring by David Franco who had 13 points. Jake Surprenant continued his hot shooting from the day before and scored 11. Will Bloom had a very solid game with 9 points and 6 assists. The team was led in rebounding by Kevin Fitzgerald who pulled down 7 boards.
The B Team won their game by the score of 36-14. They were led in scoring by Nick Quarino and Tommy Quick. Each had 7 points. Kyle Tracy chipped in with 6 points. Henry Gresick led the team in rebounding with 6.

The Freshman A Team blew a 9 point fouth quarter lead and lost to Glenbard South 50-47. The 50 points allowed, the second highest all season, and 6 turnovers in the last couple minutes of the fourth quarter contributed to the loss. Matt Nicolai had 14 points and 6 rebounds. Kevin Fitzgerald scored 13 points and Justice White added 10. Ryan Hanley led the team with 6 assists.
The B Team played their best game of the season and won 46-21. They dominated the game from start to finish. They were led in scoring by David Wackrow who scored 11 points. Luke Surprenant add 8 points.
2-6-12 vs Timothy Christian
Even though the Bulldogs were missing 4 players due to illness they were able to come away with two wins against Timothy Christian. The A Team won 51-27. Kevin Fitzgerald led the way with 12 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals. David Franco scored a season high 11 points while Jake Lucas and Ryan Hanley contributed 10 and 8 points. Henry Gresick led the team with 6 rebounds.
The B Team in a 2 Quarter game defeated Timothy Christian 17-14. David Wackrow had 9 points and Steven Baer added 6.
1-31-12 vs Elmwood Park
The Freshman A Team beat Elmwood Park 58-34. Kevin Fitzgerald had a very good all around game with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jake Lucas had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 58% from the field in one of their better shooting games of the season.
1-28-12 vs Illiana Christian
The A team could not overcome a poor shooting game in a 36-30 loss to Illiana Christian. The Bulldogs, who played very good on the defensive end of the floor led 25-22 after 3 quarters but were outscored 14-5 in the fourth. Kevin Fitzgerald led the team with 12 points and Justice White chipped in 8. Matt Nicolai led the team with 6 rebounds.
The B Team also played a very good game on defense in their 36-22 victory. Jake Surprenant scored 15 points and Nick Fucinato added 8. Luke Surprenant led the team with 4 assists and Jordan Petronella pulled down 7 rebounds.
1-27-12 vs Ridgewood
The Freshman A Team beat Ridgewood 55-29. The Bulldogs came out very focused and led 12-0 after the first quarter. The team was led in scoring and rebounding by Matt Nicolai who recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards. Henry Gresick scored 9 points off the bench. Jake Lucas had 6 points and 8 rebounds and Will Bloom led the team with 5 assists.
The B Team also played very well and had one of their best defensive efforts of the season. They won 51-20 and were led in scoring by Nick Fucinato who scored 12 points. Jordan Petronella and David Wackrow both scored 8 points.
1-23-12 vs Wheaton Warrenville South
The Freshman A Team lost 41-34 to WWS in a very hard fought contest. The Bulldogs played a very good game on defense, but just couldn't get enough defensive rebounds or make enough shots down the stretch to win the game. The 16 second chance points WWS scored was the difference in the game. Kevin Fitzgerald led the Dogs with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Ryan Hanley and Matt Nicolai both had 8 points.
The B Team lost 40-34. The Bulldogs could not overcome 18 turnovers. Jordan Petronella led the team with 10 points and 10 rebounds. David Wackrow contributed 6 points and 9 rebounds.
1-17-12 vs St. Laurence
The Freshman A Team avenged an earlier loss by beating St. Laurence 42-33. In a very physical game, the Dogs were led by there post tandem of Matt Nicolai and Jake Lucas. Nicolai finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Lucas added 11 points 9 rebounds. The defensive effort and intensity the Bulldogs played with helped them hold the Vikings to only 33 points, a 15 pt turnaround from the first game.
The B Team wasn't quit as sharp in their 43-17 loss. A terrible shooting game kept the Bulldogs from mounting a serious challenge throughout the game. David Wackrow scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Petronella had 8 rebounds.
1-14-12 vs Fenton
The Freshman A Team improved to 4-0 in conference and 9-5 overall with a 41-22 win over Fenton. They team had incredible balance on the offensive end of the floor. Ryan Hanley led the team with 7 points. Justice White, Kevin Fitzgerald, Nick Fucinato, and Jake Lucas scored 6 points. David Franco and Matt Nicolai both contributed 5 points. The team was led in rebounding by David Wackrow with 7 boards. David Franco and Ryan Hanley both had 4 assists. The Bulldogs did a great job with the ball by only turning the ball over 6 times.
The B Team also had a great effort on both ends of the floor. They beat Fenton 37-17. The team was led in scoring by Jake Surprenant and Jordan Petronella who both scored 10. Henry Gresick added 9 points and 11 rebounds. Jack Hayes and Kyle Tracy both had 6 rebounds. Steven Baer contributed 3 assists.
1-7-12 vs Glenbard South
The Freshman A Team put together one of their most complete games of the season in a 45-29 win over Glenbard South High School. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Kevin Fitzgerald with 12 points. Justice White starting in place of the injured Wil Bloom played a great game. He scored 10 points and had 4 assists. Matt Nicolai led the team with 9 boards. Ryan Hanley also had 4 assists for the Bulldogs. Jake Lucas played a solid game ending up with 5 points and 6 rebounds. A key to the game was the Bulldog bench led by David Franco and Henry Gresick. They combined for 11 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
The B Team was not able to overcome a slow start and lost 40-29. The team had 21 turnovers which led into many easy baskets for GSHS. The team was led in scoring by Nick Fucinato who despite battling the flu scored 7 points. He also had 5 steals. David Wackrow and Jake Surprenant both scored 6 points. Wackrow also led the team with 10 rebounds.
12-28-11 vs York/Morton
The Freshman A Team lost a stongly contested game against York 42-39. Overall the Dogs played a very good game, but could not overcome some untimely turnovers and offensive rebounds. The team was led in scoring by Matt Nicolai who scored 16 points on 6-9 shooting and 3-3 from the FT line. Kevin Fitzgerald added 15 points. Ryan Hanley led the team with 5 rebounds.
The Freshman B Team won a hard fought game against Morton to win 3rd Place in the B Bracket of the Downers North Xmas Tourney!!!!!! The Bulldogs, who won 35-34, were led in scoring by Jack Surprenant with 17 points. Nick Fucinato added 9 points and played a great game overall. Steven Baer also chipped in 6 points.
12-27-11 vs Stagg/Downers Grove North
The freshman boy's teams split their games on day 2 of the DGN Xmas Tourney. The A Team overcame a slow start on offense to win 37-29. They were led in scoring by Kevin Fitzgerald with 10 points and matt Nicolai with 8. Jake Lucas had a great rebounding game by clearing 13 boards.
The B Team lost a heartbreaker to Downers Grove North. DGN made a 3 pointer in the last 6 seconds to win the game. The team was led in scoring by Jake Surprenant who scored 17 points. This included 5 three point baskets. Steven Baer chipped in 8 points for the Dogs. David Wackrow dominated the boards and pulled down 15 rebounds.
12-26-11 vs St Laurence
The Freshman teams split their games in the opening round of the Downers Grove North Christmas Tournament. The A Team lost 48-35 while the B Team advanced in the winners bracket by winning 36-32. Kevin Fitzgerald scored 11 points and Matt Nicolai scored 10. Jake Lucas pulled down 8 boards.
12-16-11 vs Timothy Christian
The A Team beat Timothy Christian 54-28. For the second straight game the team shot the ball well by connecting on 60% of their shots. The team was led in scoring by Jake Lucas who tallied 14 points 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Matt Nicolai contributed 8 points and Will Bloom 7 points. Kevin Fitzgerald and Ryan Hanley led the team with 4 assists each.
The B Team played a 2 Quarter game and won 14-11. Kyle Tracy scored 6 points and did a terrrific job on the glass. David Wackrow scored 4 points.
12-14-11 vs Glenbard East
The A Team ended their 2 game losing streak with an impressive 53-21 victory over Glenbard East. The Bulldogs played their best offensive game of the season. They shot 50% from the field and had assists on 14 of their 22 baskets. Kevin Fitzgerald had a great overall game with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Justice White also had 8 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jake Lucas and Matt Nicolai contributed 8 and 7 points.
The B Team lost 40-33. They were led by Luke Surprenant with 10 points. Nick Fucinato added 9 points and Henry Gresick scored 7.
12-6-11 vs. Providence Catholic
The A and B Teams split their games with Providence Catholic. The A Team played a very poor game that resulted in a 53-29 loss. Not only did the team give up a season high of 53 points they had their worse offensive game of the season. Justice White led the team with 8 points and Matt Nicolai pulled down 8 rebounds.
The B Team on the other hand came through with a terrific effort on both ends of the floor. They scored a season high 44 points and did a very good job matching up with PCA's shooters. The team was led in scoring by Steven Baer with 15 points. Nick Fucinato added 9 points. Kyle Tracy led the team with 10 rebounds. Luke Surprenant led the team with 4 assists and did a great job running the team and playing defense.
12-5-11 vs. Lyons Township
Both the Freshman A and B Teams lost hard fought games against LT. The A Team lost 41-40 in overtime. The team was led by Jake Lucas who scored 10 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. The Dogs competed extremely hard on both ends of the floor but were done in by 20 turnovers and only shooting 6 for 12 from the freethrow line.
The B Team lost 38-26. After a quick start the Bulldogs were unable to hold on to their lead in the second half. They were led by Jake Surprenant who scored 11 points.
12-3-11 vs Elmwood Park
The Freshman A Team began conference play with a 66-12 victory over Elmwood Park. The Bulldogs had 17 steals and forced over 30 turnovers. The team also had 15 assists and turned the ball over only 8 times. Jordan Petronella came off the bench and led the team with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Matt Nicolai scored 9 points and EaShaun Banks and Jake Surprenant had 8 each. David Franco and Nick Fucinato led the team with 4 assists.
11-25-11 vs. Nazareth Academy
The Freshman A and B teams both improved to 3-1 with wins over Nazareth Academy. The A Team won 31-28 and was led by Matt Nicolai who recorded the seasons first double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Fitzgerald added 8 points and 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The Bulldogs continued to take care of the ball. They only turned the ball over 8 times while forcing over 20 Roadrunner turnovers.
The B Team won their game 28-21. A very balanced scoring attack helped the Bulldogs to victory. Matt Chapp had 5 points. Nick Fucinato, Steven Baer, Tommy Quick, Henry Gresick, and Jordan Petronella all tallied 4 points. Fucinato led the team with 5 assists and Petronella pulled down 8 rebounds.
11-21-11 vs. Mount Carmel
The Freshman A and B teams opened the season with a couple of losses. The A team lost to Mt. Carmel 43-27. It was a very good defensive effort, however, the team could not overcome a bad shooting day. Kevin Fitzgerald led the team with 14 points. Matt Nicolai and Jake Lucas both had 4 rebounds while Will Bloom led the team with 3 assists.
The B team lost 44-39 to Mt. Carmel. Matt Chapp led the team with 11 points. Jordan Petronella had a very good game. He scored 8 point and pulled down 11 rebounds.
11-22-11 vs Fenwick
Both Freshman teams came up with huge defensive efforts to beat Fenwick to even their records at 1-1. The A Team beat Fenwick 35-28 in overtime. After another slow offensive start the Bulldogs were able to keep the game close with some very good defense. Will Bloom hit a 3 pointer with 7 seconds left in the game to tie the game at 28. The Bulldogs then got the defensive stop they needed to send the game into overtime. In the OT, the Bulldogs dominated the Friars by out scoring them 7-0. Will Bloom led the team with 10 points. Jake Lucas and Matt Nicolai dominated the boards with 9 and 10 rebounds each. Ryan Hanley and David Franco did a terrific job shutting down Fenwicks best player and limiting him to only 5 points.
The B Team also put together a terrific defensive effort in defeating the Friars 42-28. The team was led by Matt Chapp who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Jake Surprenant chipped in 13 points while knocking down 4 three pointers.
11-23-11 vs. Argo
The Freshman A and B Teams both picked up wins against Argo in dominating fashion. As has been the case, the defense led the way for the Bulldogs. The A Team won by an impressive score of 61-13. Midway through the second quarter the Bulldogs led 18-13. At that point the defensive pressure took over. The Bulldogs held Argo scoreless for the rest of the way, ending the game on a 43-0 run. The team was led is scoring by David Franco who had 13 points. Jake Surprenant continued his hot shooting from the day before and scored 11. Will Bloom had a very solid game with 9 points and 6 assists. The team was led in rebounding by Kevin Fitzgerald who pulled down 7 boards.
The B Team won their game by the score of 36-14. They were led in scoring by Nick Quarino and Tommy Quick. Each had 7 points. Kyle Tracy chipped in with 6 points. Henry Gresick led the team in rebounding with 6.
